For 30 years a buying representative named Frank ate lunch at The Pewter Mug restaurant just off of Cleveland's Public Square, at the bottom of St. Claire Hill.

He'd sit at his table, close to the table reserved for celebrities, and watch as they enjoyed a meal and chatted.

Being friends with the restaurant's manager, Herb Hambouger, had a few advantages and one of them was that he let Frank take home souvenirs of some of Frank's idols.

When someone, such as Bob Feller, would leave the restaurant, Frank would scurry over to the table and take the mug he had used. He'd scribble the name or initials on the bottom of the mug so he'd be sure to remember exactly who had used it.

For many years, Frank enjoyed looking at the mugs he had collected and remembering his years in Cleveland and his brushes with the famous at The Pewter Mug.

Recently, though, he decided to share his treasures and give others a chance to enjoy what he has for so many years.
